[Men's Track] TWC gives solid performance at Nationals

GULF SHORES, Ala. - (Complete Results) Tennessee Wesleyan had a solid showing at the 2015 NAIA Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet with four individuals garnering a total of 6 NAIA All-American honors.

The women shined the brightest in the marathon where Robbiccaa Williams and Leah Chance of Tennessee Wesleyan finished third and fifth, respectively, in the women's.  Williams finished third in the marathon with a time of 3:07:57 with teammate Chance not far behind in fifth at 3:10:25.00.

In the women's team competition, Tennessee Wesleyan finished in a tie for 28th with 10 points.  Also competing for the Lady Bulldogs was Hannah Rhodes in the steeplechase and the Women's 4x100 relay team. Hannah Rhodes sets a new school record in the 3k steeple prelims with a time of 11:26.  Women's 4x1 finishes 4th in their heat and 17th overall in the prelims with a time of 47.88.

In the men's competition, Joseph Mullen and Avery Hubbard of Tennessee Wesleyan both nabbed a pair of all-American recognitions. Mullen fifth in both the 10000 meter and 5000 meter runs with times of 30:58.39 and 15:02.52, respectively. Hubbard picked up his awards in the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes. He was fifth in the 100 at 10.37 seconds and eighth in the 200 at 21.36 seconds.

In the men's team competition Tennessee Wesleyan placed 23rd overall with 13 points.

Also competing for the Bulldogs was Edra GipsonChaz Hawkins, and Chad Whitehead.   Gipson with a season best in the 100m dash prelims of 10.67.  Chaz Hawkins runs new school record and finishes second in his heat with a time of 14.60. Chad Whitehead finishes sixth in his heat of the 1500m prelim with a time of 3:58.44
