The Lipscomb track and field squad opened its indoor season with an early meet at the Vanderbilt Opener on Saturday. Junior Wayne Newman finished third in the 60m hurdle, sixth in the 400m and 12th in the 60m.

The Lipscomb track and field will begin the season close to home with the Vanderbilt Opener on Saturday.
The meet starts at 10:30 at the Vanderbilt Indoor Multi-Purpose Facility.

The women's team had the highest GPA in the nation, while the men came in fifth. In addition to the top five rankings, five Bisons earned Academic All-American status.
