[Cross Country] Cross Country competes in Royals Challenge

Queens University of Charlotte hosted the fifth annual Royals Cross Country Challenge Saturday morning at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Tennessee Wesleyan men won the 8k overall with 57 points, a team average of 25:22, and a total time of 2:06:54.    Joseph Mullen led the team, placing fourth with a time of 24:48.  Arnold Mutuse placed sixth with a time of 24:52, Roderick Bowman placed tenth in 25:20, Chad Whitehead placed 20th in 25:53, and Samuel Hawkins rounded out the top five placing 28th in 26 flat.

Tennessee Wesleyan's women placed fifth overall in the 5k, and second in non-d1 schools with 175 points, a team average of 19:10, and a team time of 1:35:50.  Robbiccaa Williams led the women with a new school record for the 5k: 18:39, earning her 21st in the race.  Hannah Rhodes placed 36th with a time of 18:55, Leah Chance placed 44th in 19:08, Bre Snow placed 51st in 19:21, and Karlie Yinger was the fifth TWC runner placing 64th in 19:45. 

Next week the Bulldogs travel to Hilton Head to compete in the USCB Sand Shark Invitational.  It is the last regular season race before the conference meet.
