[Women's Track] 3 Runners qualify for NAIA National Track Championships

Comments

This past Saturday in Oak Ridge, three of TWC's runners qualified for the Marathon in the NAIA National Track Championships in Gulf Shores, AL.  Robbiccaa Williams, Bre Snow, and Leah Chance ran in the Secret City Half Marathon one week after the team placed 25th at the National Cross Country Meet.  To qualify for the Marathon runners can choose to run a full marathon or a half marathon.  The girls had to run the half marathon in under one hour and thirty minutes. (The "B" standard is 1:32.)  All three hit this standard:

Bre Snow- 1:28:17

Leah Chance- 1:28:36

Robbiccaa Williams- 1:27:19

"We were ecstatic to hear that all three women hit the "A" standard!" said Coach Jakubowski.  "This is even more impressive, and speaks to how fit the girls are, when you take into perspective that the Cross Country National Championship was only one week before.  These girls are in phenomenal shape, and we can't wait to see what their track season has in store."

The track team's first indoor track meet is January 16-17 at ETSU in Johnson City, TN.
