[Cross Country] Bulldog Runners earn AAC Runner of the Week honors

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Jacob Simmons and Robbiccaa Williams, both of Tennessee Wesleyan College, are the Appalachian Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

This is the third edition of the weekly honors for the 2015 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Sept. 29.

AAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

Jacob Simmons - Tennessee Wesleyan - Sr. - Crossville, Tenn.

Placed ninth in a field of 90 runners at the Berea College Invitational.

Team finished fourth overall.

Completed the 5-mile race in 27:19.7.

This is the second time he has won the weekly award this season and in his career.


AAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

Robbiccaa Williams - Tennessee Wesleyan - Sr. - Sunbright, Tenn.

Won the Berea College Invitational, which had a field of 93 runners.

Posted a time of 18:57.6 in the 5K race.

Helped Tennessee Wesleyan to a first-place finish in the team competition with a total score of 23 points, 32 points fewer than second-place Centre College

This is the first time he has won the weekly award this season and the fifth weekly honor in her career.
