[Men's Track] No. 13 Bulldogs Set 5 National Qualifying Marks at ETSU Invite

Johnson City, TN. – Three NAIA A Standards and one NAIA B Standard were hit this weekend by the Bulldogs at the ETSU Buccaneer Invitational.

Tennessee Wesleyan senior Joseph Mullen and junior Jacob Simmons both hit NAIA A standards in the mile this weekend. Mullen finished second overall in the race with a time of 4:14.21 with Jacob Simmons finishing sixth overall with a time of 4:18.44.

Rounding out the distance events, Roderick Bowman hit an NAIA B Standard in the 5,000 meter race with a time of 15:08.99 and finishing second overall.

In the sprint events, sophomore Avery Hubbard improved on his nation leading NAIA time in the 60 meter dash. Hubbard ran his new nation leading mark in the 60 meter dash semifinal run with a time of 6.73 seconds. He then went on to finish second overall in the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.83 seconds.

Hubbard also won the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.75 seconds, which is also an NAIA A Standard in for the 200 meter dash.

The Bulldogs return to action Friday Feb. 21, as they head to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to participate at the USC Invitational on the JDL Fast Track.
