[Women's Track] LADY BULLDOGS COMPETE AT SHOTER INVITATIONALPublished by
Rome, GA. – Tennessee Wesleyan women's track and field team traveled last weekend to Shorter University for the 4th annual Shorter Invitational where two new school records were set. Freshman Hannah Rhodes came away with a win and a new school record in the 3,000m steeplechase. Rhodes crossed the finish line with a time of 11:47.96. Following behind her was sophomore Leah Chance, who finished second with a time of 12:10.43. Another runner-up finish was set by junior Robbiccaa Williams. Williams finished second overall in the 1500m race with a time of 4:56.54. The second school record was set by freshman Rachel Lawhorn in the shot put. Lawhorn improved on her previous school record she set last weekend in the shot put by throwing a mark of 11.45m (37'6.75"). She finished second overall. Finally, junior Brooklyn Girdly set a huge personal best in the 5,000m race. Girdly dropped a full minute of her previous personal best, running a time of 20:29.70 this past weekend.
