[Men's Track] BULLDOGS COMPETE AT SHORTER INVITATIONALPublished by
Rome, GA. – Tennessee Wesleyan men's track and field team traveled last weekend to Shorter University for the 4th annual Shorter Invitational. Senior Joseph Mullen continues his excellent track season by setting a new school and coming away with another victory this past weekend. Mullen won the Invite Mile with a time of 4:20.15 in windy conditions. This is back to back weekends where Mullen has come away win a victory. Sophomore Chad Whitehead finished a close second behind Mullen in the mile, running a time of 4:20.93. Later that afternoon, Mullen came back with a fourth place finish in the 800m race, setting a new school record with a time of 1:55.33. Freshman Chaz Hawkins also set a new school record last weekend in the 400m hurdles. Hawkins finished sixth overall with a time of 56.74. This time improves on his previous school record that he set last weekend in this event. Junior Arnold Mutuse also came away with a victory in the 3,000m steeplechase with a winning time of 9:35.03. The Bulldogs also saw two other top-5 performances in the steeplechase with sophomore Samuel Hawkins and sophomore Austin Wiseman finished third and fifth, respectively. Finally, freshman Jake Morgenstern turned in a personal best and a second place finish in the 200m dash. Morgenstern crossed the line with a time of 22.46. The Bulldogs will be traveling to Wofford College for the Terrier Relays this weekend in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Read the full article at: www.twbulldogs.com
